Calling all ‘Back to School’ Donations

Pinks are supporting the Back to School 2017 scheme by collecting donations of new school items, to provide disadvantaged children with the school necessities.

Donations collected at the branch will be distributed to those in need by local charities the Women’s Refuges and the St Vincent de Paul Society.

Funeral Arranger/Administrator, Karen Rattigan, said: “These charities do receive grants to provide a number of families with the basics, such as the school uniform, but they don’t cover everything.

“I can remember my daughter going into school with her new bag but there were other children with holes in their socks.

“It’s the little things like a new school bag, a pencil case, a lunch box or a PE kit that really make the impact to their school experiences.”

New ‘back to school’ items can be dropped into the Pinks branch on 344 Limpsfield Rd, South Croydon, until the 10 August.
