Pinks Community Fund £3,000 pledged to help our local communities

Pinks Community Fund - Local Hamsey Green charity grant programme Logo

As a way of giving back to our local area, the Pinks Community Fund aims to provide funding support for community-based projects which improve the quality of life of people living within three miles of Pinks Funeral Directors’s branches in Hamsey Green and Caterham.

Six local charities will be awarded funding toward the cost of a specific, community-focused project. We aim to fund projects that run for 3 months or longer, but we may consider shorter projects if ongoing community benefits can be demonstrated.

In order to be eligible to receive funding, the project must align with one or more of the fund categories: Health, Education, Employment Opportunities, Poverty/Social Deprivation. Grants are available for amounts up to £500.

We will run two application cycles over the course of the year:

Applications open Applications close Winners informed by
Cycle one 02/02/2026 15/03/2026 26/04/2026
Cycle two 15/06/2026 26/07/2026 06/09/2026

If you work with a charity in need of funding for community projects in Hamsey Green, Caterham, Warlingham, Purley, South Croydon or surrounding areas, we encourage you to apply. We particularly welcome applications from small, local not-for-profit organisations embedded in their communities.

Karen Rattigan
Karen Rattigan brings a wealth of experience and leadership to the Pinks Community Fund panel. As an Area Development Manager at Funeral Partners, she plays a key role in supporting funeral homes across the region, strengthening community connections, and championing high standards of care for families.
Alongside her operational expertise, Karen also serves as the Chair of the London Association of Funeral Directors (LAFD) Southern District, where she leads collaborative initiatives, professional development, and sector engagement across the wider funeral profession.
Her combination of industry knowledge, community focus, and strategic insight makes her an invaluable member of the Pinks Community Fund panel.

He then became a Youth Service Adviser in Croydon for a further 19 years with the specific remit of supporting and developing the work of voluntary youth organisations throughout the Borough. Since retiring he has continued his youth work interests in a voluntary capacity through supporting trainee youth workers, teaching scenery building at the Croydon Youth Theatre and, along with his former school friends, running a trust fund sponsoring performing arts projects for young people.
